Workflow V2 and Style Guide V2 bring several key benefits that enhance how you manage and centralize your studio’s operations. In this article, we’ll get more familiar with using them by walking through a real-life example.

Workflow Creation

In our example workflow, our product will go through Capture, Final Selection, Internal Post, and Internal Post QC, before arriving at a branching path.

At Internal Post QC, we have three potential flows and their triggers:

  • If rejected: the task goes back to Internal Post

  • If approved: the task goes directly to Asset Delivery

  • If further retouching is needed: the task goes to External Post

Then, at External Post, we have another two possible flows:

  • If External Post is bypassed: the task goes directly to Asset Delivery

  • If External Post is Done: the task goes to External Post QC

Then, at External Post QC, we have two possible flows:

  • If rejected: the task goes back to External Post

  • If approved: the task goes directly to Asset Delivery

Style Guide Trigger

After creating the workflow, we can assign or change the workflow of individual production types in the Style Guide.

When importing the products, we need to make sure the property for the Category or Style Guide Name is properly mapped to trigger the Style Guide.

Similar to in Style Guide V1– for any products that are already in the system as ‘To-Do’ or ‘Backlog’, we can click ‘Edit Product’ then ‘Change Category,’ and manually select our Style Guide.

Applying Updates

Currently, the Apply Updates action is available on the Production and Products page only. Workflow V2 does not yet support the ability to Apply Updates on Workflows that have Derived workflows set up.

Workflow In Action

With the above example flow, when the task reaches Internal Post QC, we can review where the task goes next under the Flow tab on the right-hand side.
