While Workflows map the destinations on your product’s journey through Creative Force, your Style Guide sets the rules of the road. To accompany the new Workflow V2, we present Style Guide V2, Creative Force's next tool for helping you flexibly control workunits and centralize your studio’s operation.
After the Style Guide V2 feature is enabled in your account, you can go to Production > Style Guide V2 to view it.
Once inside the Style GuideV2 page, you will find the following options to navigate existing workflows:
Filter by Client
Filter by Workflow: type in the workflow name
Filter by ‘Any,’ ‘Enable,’ or ‘Disable’ States
Sort by Alphabetical A to Z, Alphabetical Z to A, Creation date or Usage
You can hover over the existing style guide to view or edit it. To create a new style guide, click on ‘Add Style Guide’.
Note:
Workflow V2 does not yet support the ability to Apply Updates on Derived workflows and workflows that have Derived workflows.
Currently, Apply Updates action is available on the Production and Products page only.
Style Guide Settings
Once you click on ‘Add Style Guide’, you will be brought to the Style Guide Settings screen.
On the left side, there are options to:
Put in a Style Guide name
Select the Client
Upload a cover image for the Style Guide
Put in a general description of the Style Guide
Upload Files, to give additional information such as Set building instructions.
On the right side are the main settings for your Style Guide. These settings will be applied to all of the selected production types.
Production Types
By default, we have six production types which are On Model, Mannequin, Flats, Overhead, Tabletop, and Hanger. You can also create your own production type, see more on that here.
Select the production type you want to produce your products in. Every time a production type is selected, its corresponding tab will be triggered next to the Settings header.
The newly selected production type tab will have the orange icon to warn you that it is missing a configuration. Only after these requirements are fulfilled can you ‘Save’ the Style Guide.
Category Triggers
Add/edit the correct category triggers to be used for this Style guide by hitting ‘+’ from the Unassigned Category Triggers or writing in the text field to add new ones.
Color Reference
Depending on your needs, enable or disable this setting. In this tab, you will have the option to:
Name the color reference file using hard-coded text or available tokens in your instance
Decide how the production should run and designate an approach for creating a color reference file. For more information on this, see our article on Color Reference Management.
Non-selects
Here, you can set up the naming convention for the non-select assets. This setting is only active if 'delivery non-selects' is enabled on your workflow level.
Properties
To create Style Guide properties, go to your Studio Settings > Properties. This will come in handy if you want to use the Style Guide properties as part of your file naming convention.
Style Guide Production Type Setting
Once you have set up the general settings for your Style Guide, it’s time to move into the details for each production type.
Assigned Workflow
To get started, you need to assign a workflow to the selected production type. Click on ‘Assign Workflow’ and select the workflow you want. The workflow list is filtered by the selected Client of the current style guide.
Click ‘Go to workflow’ to see the corresponding workflow of the current style guide.
Click ‘Change’ if you want to assign a different workflow to the current style guide.
This means that each production type of the product can run on different workflows while having the same style guide.
After assigning the workflow, you will then need to set up the following three tabs.
Capture
This is the place to define the different positions or angles to be produced in the selected production type.
If you don’t have a description already, click ‘Add Description.’ Otherwise, the description box will be displayed here.
Click ‘Upload Files’ to add documents to the style guide to share more information with your team. You can upload PDF, TIFF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, PSD, and office files such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint documents.
For more details about adding positions and setting up conditional rules, click here.
Assets
This is the place to define the naming conventions for your assets and where you want to deliver those assets.
Read more about Assets here
Properties
If you have Style Guide production type properties created in your instance, this is where you will be able to assign them values.
Once all the settings have been fulfilled, click ‘Save’ then the Style Guide setup is complete and you can start the production!
