Copywriting Overview
The Copywriting feature gives copywriters the ability to see product data, images, and guidelines as they work. It also manages to easily QC copy and track performance all in one place.
Before moving with this below Copywriting style guide setup, you should go over the Overview article to learn about Accounts and Client setup.
Copywriting Style Guide Set Up
First and foremost, you will want to make sure the style guide you are working on is using a workflow that has the Text production type enabled. Copywriting workflow can be found here.
You will then have the option to choose “Create New” or “Select Existing” copywriting configurations from the Copywriting tab of the style guide:
A configuration is a combination of fields and layouts that allow copywriters to see image assets, guidelines, restrictions, and more as they work. Once you have created or selected a configuration, you can see how many style guides a configuration is used on, access the Actions dropdown, and edit the fields and widgets:
Note:
You can set up conditional rules on Copywriting production type in the style guide. More info about conditional rules can be found here.
A Layout is made up of widgets and fields, which we will go into in more detail later in the article. You can add, remove, and adjust the size of the widgets and fields displayed in the Layout from this page.
Once you have a Layout set up to your liking, you can click Save and a smaller, interactive version of the Layout will be visible under the Layout section of the Text tab:
Note:
You can have multiple layouts in one configuration and each layout can have different widgets and fields.
You can save configurations as a Local Configuration or Central Configuration. A Local Configuration will be saved for just the style guide you are working on and will not be available for other style guides. A Central Configuration will be available to select on other style guides with the Text production type enabled. This can be changed via the Actions dropdown:
As previously mentioned, configurations are made up of fields and widgets. To set up a new field type from the Edit Configuration screen, you’ll click on Add > Create New and select a Field Type from the dropdown.
There are lots of different Field Types to choose from! Almost all of the fields will have the same below sections:
