Creative Force employs a structured logic to select and display images during various stages of production workflows. This ensures that the most appropriate images are used for thumbnails, previews, and production views. This article will guide you through the logic of how Creative Force displays images through different areas of Gamma.
Feature Overview
For studio staff, real-time updated production progress means more than just percentages and numbers; it also means asset visualization.
In most places where display images appear, the size of the thumbnails can be controlled via a slide toggle icon.
Display Image Pool
All of the images that are available in Creative Force and linked to Products, Samples, Outfits, or Styling Items are included in the Display Image Pool.
To access the Display Image Pool, hover over the display image frame and select the pencil icon in the relevant tab.
Within the Display Image Pool, you can manually select an alternate asset that has been previously added to the pool or upload a new image to use.
Image Pool Logic
For most Display Image types, a priority logic determines how the system digests and displays the image to the Display Image pool. Priority 0 is the lowest, and Priority 6 is the highest.
By default, the system scans through the Display Image pool from the highest priority to the lowest priority and selects an image to be used as the Display Image based on the priority logic.
However, if a user manually selects an image to use as the Display Image, it will override the default logic and always be the asset chosen as the display image.
Priority Logic
| EXAMPLE LOGIC REPRESENTATION |
Priority Logic | [↑ lowest priority] Priority 0: File imported via 'Product Display Image' property Priority 0: File uploaded by the user in Gamma Priority 1: File uploaded through VPI Production Images Priority 3: End of Capture Step: Model Production Images Priority 4: Last Step of Workflow: Model Production Images Priority 5: End Capture Step: Still Life Production Images Priority 6: Last Step of Workflow: Still Life Production Images [↓ highest priority] |
Priority Logic | Overrides All: File uploaded by the user in Gamma [ * special priority] |
Run-Off Logic
In cases where there are two images with competing priorities (two assets from the same priority group), a run-off logic is used to determine the selection.
The Run-Off Logic is separate for priority 0 and the same for all competing assets of a higher priority.
| EXAMPLE RUN-OFF LOGIC REPRESENTATION |
Priority Logic | [same priority] Priority 0: File imported via 'Product Display Image' property Priority 0: File uploaded by the user in Gamma [same priority] |

Removed Asset Handling
For cases in which an asset is removed from the pool (Product/Production Reset, Product Marked as Inactive, etc.)
We will follow the default logic to select another Product Display Image.
If all the images in the Product Display Image pool are removed, we will remove the current Product Display Image.
Display Image Types
Assets are added to the Display Image Pool at set intervals during production, and operate off of a fixed priority logic to choose which asset should be the currently displayed asset.
The logic and priority assignment also vary depending on the type of display image. We will reference the types in the table below, and in the following sections, cover their logic in detail.
Display Image Type | Description |
Sample Display Image | Shown on the Sample page. Changed via the Display Image action on the Sample screen. |

Importing Display Images
When a job is imported where an image URL is mapped to the 'Product Display Image' or 'Sample Display Image' property, we will import the image to the display image pool (Priority 0).
If the URL is updated on a Product/Sample, we will add the new image to the Display Image Pool, keeping the previously imported images. The URLs can be added at the same time as when the products are imported.
Once imported, you can either update the Display Image manually via available actions or via a Data Source sync when the property has been mapped.
URL/Image Requirements
The URLs should be public for 24 hours
Supported file types can be found here
URL length must be less than 2048 characters
File size must be less than 200MB
To import multiple image files use the “|” delimiter to separate each URL
