Sprint 204: Editorial Auto-Variant Generation, Editorial Tab Consolidation & Label Recognition Updates

Written by Sarah Uriarte

Happy Sprint Release Day! 🚀

This sprint's release brings some refinements to our Editorial module such as auto-variant generation as well as the consolidation of the Assets and Images tabs within Projects. We're also excited to release improvements to Label Recognition.

We're always eager to hear your thoughts, so don't hesitate to share your feedback.

Auto-Variant Generation in Editorial Presets

Studio admins can now configure auto-variants in editorial presets. This allows studios to define dimensions, file format, crop, and color space ahead of time so that channel-specific renditions generate automatically at the Asset Delivery step, with no manual post-delivery processing required.

In the preset editor, auto-variants are shown nested under their base spec with a ⚡ icon marking presets that include them. Generated variants are delivered to every configured destination alongside the manual variant. To view the generated assets, go to the Assets tab in your Editorial project and select Show Variants within the Asset Delivery step. This release covers Photo presets; existing presets without auto-variants are unaffected.

Assets and Images Tabs Consolidated in Editorial

The Images tab in Editorial projects now includes a Production entry in the left-nav sidebar, bringing all Assets tab content directly into the same browsing space as Favorites, Uploaded assets, and Custom Galleries — no more switching between two project tabs to find what you need. From Production, assets can be star-rated, favorited, added to Custom Galleries, and shared with external reviewers via Gallery Collections, with filtering, sorting, and layout options working consistently across all entries. A banner on the Assets tab will guide you to the new location — give it a try and let us know if anything is missing for your workflows.

Label Recognition Updates

We’ve made several improvements to Label recognition to ensure the content extracted from labels is more comprehensive and accurate. These updates include:

  • A section for Other Notes that highlights information relevant to customers that doesn’t fit into other categories like Material Composition or Care instructions

  • For garments with trim that is not included in Material Composition, this detail is now displayed with Material Composition if this is noted on the garment label

  • Overall accuracy of Label Recognition by fine-tuning our prompt to AI

The new content captured in Label Recognition will flow into Copywriting and is available in Label Recognition tokens used for metadata.
