Happy Sprint Release Day! đ
In this update, we're introducing several improvements: the ability to quickly reuse assets for Editorial Projects, an option to consolidate duplicate Workflows during your V1 to V2 migration, and a small enhancement to the PUT Update Product endpoint in our API.
We hope these improvements make your day-to-day tasks more efficient, and as always, we welcome your thoughts and feedback. Enjoy the read!
Reusing Assets in Editorial
You can now reuse any asset in Creative Force for Editorial Projects and Deliverables, making it easier to kick-start Editorial work with existing assets.
Simply click 'Reuse Images' from the 'Add' dropdown that appears on pages where assets can be added to Editorial Projects and Deliverables, then select the assets you'd like to use. Since there are likely quite a few assets to select from, filters can be used to narrow down the assets shown for you to select from.
Streamline Workflow V2 Migration by Consolidating Matching Workflows
When converting Style Guides from V1 to V2, studios with multiple Production Types in a Style Guide often end up with duplicate Workflows, even when the steps, transitions, and configurations are identical. This creates unnecessary complexity and maintenance overhead.
With our latest update, users can now choose to 'Consolidate Identical Workflows' during Style Guide conversion. This smart consolidation feature automatically detects and merges Workflows with matching steps, transitions, and configurations into a single V2 Workflow while maintaining all Production Type associations. The result is a cleaner, more manageable Workflow structure that reduces duplication while preserving all functionality and connections.
API Update to Allow NonâCategory Property Updates for InâProgress Products
We've improved the PUT Update Product API endpoint to handle updates more efficientlyâeven when a Product is in a processing state. Previously, if you attempted to update both the category and other properties for a Product that was In Progress or Done, the entire update would fail. With our latest update, we've improved the way that these cases are handled.
For Products in In Progress or Done status:
The category remains unchanged (as before)
All other valid property updates will be processed successfully
The API returns a clear response message indicating which updates were applied and why the category remained unchanged
This enhancement ensures that valid property updates are not blocked by category restrictions when a Product is in processing, providing a more flexible and user-friendly API experience.
