Adobe Workfront is a work management solution for teams looking to strategically prioritize, assign, and complete projects. Combining this tool with Creative Force will give you a powerful end-to-end workflow.
➕ Add On: Adobe Workfront is an add-on Connector. If you are interested in using it in your studio, please contact your CSM.
Enable Connector
Once the connector is available in your account, head to Studio Settings → Connectors → Adobe Workfront, and enable the connector.
⚠️ Important: In order to set up this connector, you will need to have a valid Workfront Fusion license.
After enabling, you will be asked to input the following information from your Workfront account:
📝 Note: If you do not have access to create an API Key, you may need to connect with your team's Workfront admin for them to provide it.
Connection Field | Function |
Workfront Fusion Username | Required configuration credential. |
Workfront Fusion Password | Required configuration credential. |
Workfront URL | Required configuration credential. |
Workfront API Key | Required configuration credential. |
With each step, you will need to click ‘Validate’ to make sure the data is correct.
Once you have entered the requested information, you will be able to input the names that are used to create a hierarchy of tasks in the connected Workfront project.
Task Management
After enabling the connector, you will be able to sync Creative Force Job or Project data to Workfront Projects. The process for managing each differs depending on the module your data is under, either Ecom or Editorial.
Ecom Task Management
In order to connect a Job, go to the Jobs page, find the appropriate Job, then click on View in the top right corner to enter the full Job view:
On the left-hand side, look for the Adobe Workfront icon– you will then be able to connect the Job.
Clicking on the Connect Project button allows you to then input the project URL.
After the connection is successful, Creative Force will then build and maintain a structure of tasks and subtasks in Workfront with information and status.
As tasks are updated in Creative Force, progress is then tracked in Workfront.
After the connection is successful, Creative Force will then build and maintain a structure of tasks and subtasks in Workfront with information and status. When a Job is connected to a Workfront project, Creative Force will:
Create a Photo Studio task on the project, using the “Photo studio task name” in the settings.
Under this task, create a hierarchy of subtasks: Jobs using the ‘Ecom task name’ in the settings -> Job Name 1 -> Product code 1... etc
Editorial Task Management
In order to connect a deliverable, you will need to go to the Deliverable detail view.
You can do this via the Deliverable drop-down menu and then click View on the selected deliverable. Or, you can access the deliverable via the project menu.
On the left-hand side, look for the Adobe Workfront icon– you will then be able to connect the Deliverable.

After the connection is successful, Creative Force will then build and maintain a structure of tasks and subtasks in Workfront with information and status. When an Editorial project is connected to a Workfront project, Creative Force will:
Create a Photo Studio task on the project, using the “Photo studio task name” in the settings.
Under this task, create a hierarchy of subtasks: Editorial Projects using the ‘Editorial task name’ in the settings -> Project Name 1 -> Deliverable Name...
Notes & Limitations
We suggest that you do not create tasks or sub-tasks within the task tree that is created by Creative Force when a Job/Deliverable and a project are linked. This means one product in CF and can only have one task in Workfront.
In the case that the link is removed at a later date, Creative Force will remove the tasks it has created and any sub-tasks, whether they are automatically or manually made.
If the task names are updated, Creative Force will also update the existing tasks in Workfront.
If the API key is updated, the user must validate again before establishing the connection. All existing job connections will still be kept.
If the Workfront Endpoint is changed, it is equivalent to creating a new Workfront connector.
The Workfront connector cannot be deleted manually.
