In Creative Force, Jobs act as containers for all of your production data. With the Create Job from Scan option, you can scan sample labels directly and pull in their data from your studio's connected Data Source.
Getting Started
There are three ways that you can create a job in Creative Force:
Import Method | Description |
From File | You can create a job by uploading a .csv, .xlsx, or .json file. |
Sync from Data Source | Filter for specific data in your Data Source, and set criteria for when new information is added. |
From Scan | Scan sample labels directly and pull in their data from your studio's connected Data Source. |
In order to get started creating Jobs from Data Source Syncs, you will need to first have completed setting up and configuring your Data Source. For more information on this, please see the related article linked below.
Create New Job
With your Data Source set up and connected to a Workspace, head to Jobs β Create Job β 'From Scan.'
In the next menu, fill out the necessary information for job creation.
Option Field | Function |
Workspace | Select the Workspace this job will be associated with. |
Job Name | Enter a name for the Job. |
Job Code | Designate a 'Job Code' or internal identifier. |
Deadline | Set a deadline by which the Job is to be completed, for internal tracking. |
Properties | Add any specific properties at the Job level that should be associated. |
After filling out the required information, hit ''Next' and you will be brought to a new screen. Gamma is now listening for the scan.
Scan the first Sample label, or manually enter a Product Code. Gamma will search for the product in the Data Source and then display the code entered via the scan and the resultant product properties.
If multiple Samples exist for the scanned Product, they will be listed under 'Sample Code' in the right-hand menu, with each Sample separated by a comma.
Click the 'Add' button (or the Return key on your keyboard) to add the Product to the Job, and the related Samples will be loaded in as a list.
If not all of the Samples are relevant to this Job, use the multi-select and 'Actions' button to remove them from the scope.
To add more Products or Samples, continue to scan, and the related Samples for the additionally scanned Products will be added to the list.
Once you have finished adding additional Products/Samples, you can select 'Continue' in the bottom right corner. You will be shown an additional menu with available Import Settings.
For more information on Import Settings, see our dedicated article on the subject at the page linked below.
Post-Job Creation
Depending on your desired next steps, three buttons with distinct paths can be taken to move forward from the Import Settings.
Option | Next Steps |
Cancel | Abandon Job creation and lose all data associated with this session. |
Continue | Save your changes, create the Job, and move to the Scan page. |
Finish | Save your changes, create the Job, and move to the Job Details screen. |
Continue to Scan Flow
When 'Continue' is selected, your Job will be created with the selected Products and Samples imported, and you will be brought directly to the Scan page with a 'Check-In' Flow pre-loaded in.
All of the relevant Samples from the previous selection process will be loaded into the 'To-Do' list. From here, you can adjust the Scan Flow as desired.
After making any necessary adjustments, utilize the toggled 'Process without Scanning' option and hit 'Start' to have the Scan Flow actions applied to all your imported Job Samples.
