Generative Productions allow more dynamic processing of assets– especially for use cases involving Generative AI, where assets require flexible inputs and outputs. When combined with Cloud Automation in your Workflows, Generative Style Guide Settings allow you to fine-tune and perfect how assets flow to and from your AI tool of choice.

This article assumes you have already enabled a Cloud Automation connector that provides AI Native Features like Image to Video or Virtual On Model. To learn more about available connectors and their applicable subfunctions, see our article here.

For some of the features in this article to become available, various requirements need to be met. These requirements will be called out visually in the article where applicable.

Head to Production → Style Guides along the navigation bar in Creative Force. Here, you can either opt to create a new Style Guide or edit an existing one. Once you have entered the Style Guide, look for your Generative Production Type in the list and select to enable it.

With the Production Type enabled, select the tab for it along the top, and then assign your saved Generative Workflow.

Within the Capture Tab, you will be able to create the necessary Photography Positions and then define the Media Type for each.

Requirements

When the production progresses through the Workflow, for any steps where multiple media types are grouped together, users will only be able to associate files of the specified Media Type for each respective Photography Position.

When working with Generative Productions, Source Tags allow you to explicitly map source positions to target positions when sending assets to Cloud Automation. This way, assets always arrive in the correct positions when AI receives the input.

Source Tags can be configured for Custom Cloud Automation Connectors.

When adjusting the External Post tab of the Style Guide, you will see a warning for positions where the media type is not relevant to the post-production selected.

When working with Generative AI in your Workflow, there may sometimes be scenarios where the photography positions need to change between Capture and the AI processing done at the Cloud Automation step. This is made possible via the 'Different Input vs Output' toggle.

When the toggle is enabled, an additional tab for photography positions becomes available. Navigate between Capture and Final Selection, and create each position list independently.

Because the Final Selection positions will be the end result, naming is handled via the Presets and Naming tab. For the new Capture positions, a dedicated File Name field will become available directly in the tab:

In the above example, the toggle is enabled, and the following configuration is set.

Then, as the Production flows through the Workflow, we get the following scenario.

In cases where your studio is already producing assets that can be used as AI Input on another Production Type, you can use the Production Trigger & Pass Through options to send those assets from the source production directly through to Cloud Automation for your Generative Production. This allows you to skip capture entirely.

In the above example, the Different Input/Output toggle is enabled, and the following configurations are set for the Flats and AI On Model Production Types, respectively.
