The Workflow V2 Management Screen in Creative Force helps you map out your production steps visually. Think of it as building a detailed, color-coded road map for your workflow. Each step connects to others through Step Transitions which tell the system what happens next in different scenarios. Let’s unpack how this works.
Transition Types
There are four Transition Types and they are categorized into four different colors.
Transition Type | Transition Color | Purpose |
Done | Black | Indicates the step is completed |
Done with Instruction | Blue | Completed with extra instructions for the next step |
Rejected | Red | Sends assets back to a previous step |
Bypassed | Purple | Skips a step and jumps ahead |
How Transition Types Work
Done Transition
A step always needs at least one Done Transition Type. Without it, Creative Force will flash a warning and refuse to save the workflow. You can choose either Done or Done with Instruction— or both!
When a step is Done with Instruction
Done with Instruction provides you an opportunity to draw a different scenario when the step is completed.
Examples with Done Transition Types:
When there are two Done transitions:
Step: Final Selection
Type: Done
Transition to: Digital Processing
Type: Done with Instructions
Transition to: Internal Post L1
Result: When the user performs the Final Selection task, they will see different options in the Next Step indication.
2. When there is only a Done with Instruction transition:
Step: Final Selection
Type: Done with Instruction
Transition to: Internal Post L1
Result: When a user performs Final Selection and clicks continue but does not mark any images for Instruction, an alert message will be displayed to the user. If the user proceeds to click ‘OK’, the assets will still be moved to Internal Post.
3. When there is only Done:
Step: Final Selection
Type: Done
Transition to: Internal Post L1
Result: When a user performs Final Selection, they still have the option to add instructions for the post-production step as usual. If they decide to not leave any instructions, the system will not alert the user about the missing instruction notes. The task still goes to Internal Post L1, with or without instructions.
Note:
You can set up multiple Done transitions for one step. In Kanban Tasks, you can manually select the next step or let predefined Transition Conditional Rules take over (more on that later!).
Rejected Transition
Rejection is an optional service and needs to be set up between steps to let the system know that the Rejection is available for users. When dragging the line from a subsequent step to a preceding step, the system will know that it is for Rejection.
At Post Review, you can have multiple Reject Transitions to different post-production steps.
However, when production reaches Post Review and the task did not go through External Post, you won’t be able to reject to External Post.
Note:
Without a Rejection transition, you will not be able to reject tasks.
It is not possible to reject to Final Selection, Photo Review, and Post Review.
Rejection to a post-production step must be done from the corresponding QC or Post Review steps.
Bypassed Transition
In the case where a step is bypassed, the system will show you what the next step is. In the example below, if the Internal Post L1 is bypassed, it will be moved to the External Post step.
After exporting the images in Hue panel, you will see the next step indication.
Note:
Setting a Bypass transition from a subsequent step to a preceding step is not supported.
Transition Conditional Rules
This is an advanced setting where you can set up conditional rules allowing Creative Force to push the tasks automatically to the pre-defined step without your manual selection.
You will see a three-cube icon in the step slide-in when there is more than one transition in one transition type.
In the popup, click Add Condition. Add rules using If and Else logic. You can add multiple conditions in one conditional rule. The system will process conditions from top to bottom.

Example:
If Job Code contains "V2" → Move to Internal Post L1.
Else → Move to Digital Processing.
When the user performs the task step, they will see an option that is Determined by Logic.
