Chroma: Search Tab

How to use the Search Tab & in Chroma, Creative Force's mobile app.

Written by Viviana

Chroma is Creative Force's mobile application, focused on sample management and other functions leading up to the shooting process. From outfit building to complex scan flows, Chroma packs all the power of Creative Force right into the palm of your hand. In the Search Tab, you can query specific items from Gamma and review and take action on them– all without having to directly scan a printed label.

Search vs Scan

The Search Tab works differently from scanning. While scanning resolves a specific barcode, Search runs a text/keyword lookup (minimum 3 characters) that can match several kinds of records at once. This allows you to be flexible with your searches.

When Chroma executes a search query, it checks to see if your input text matches any of the following codes: Product Codes, Sample Codes, Outfit Codes, Location Codes, Container Codes.

Search Tab

After accessing the Search Tab in Chroma, you will find a list of recently searched codes, as well as a search bar to query new codes.

Use the on-screen virtual keyboard to type a code or name, or paste from your device's clipboard, then select 'Search' to execute the query.

Exact Match

If there is an exact match, like when a search for a specific Product Code is executed, the returned result will be shown as a shortcut menu at the bottom of the screen. For a more in-depth look at the matched item, you can drag the bottom menu up from its edge to expand it to a full-screen menu. This allows you to review the details in full.

Multiple Results

When a search results in multiple full or partial matches, a results screen will appear. You can scroll up and down the list to view the resulting matches in full. When you find the specific match you were looking for, select 'View' to expand the result.

Expand Result

The options, information tabs, and actions in the expanded menu vary for the type of item scanned. To see a full in-depth list of what's available in each menu, see the corresponding section for each Item Type in our article at the link below.
