External Post-Production is a vital function for studios looking to have assets handled efficiently and accurately. Creative Force offers the ability to connect to a range of external services, vendors, and platforms– integrating their work directly into your Creative Force Workflows.
Getting Started
The process to first set up a new post-production vendor starts with configuration in the Studio Settings. Before proceeding, make sure you have the proper permissions to make changes for your studio!
Enable Connector
Setting up specific connectors as post-production vendors requires first enabling the connector. You can verify the connector you are looking for is currently enabled by heading to Studio Settings → Connectors. Then, look for
near the name.
For more information on Connectors, please see our dedicated article linked below.
Add New Post Vendor
To add a new External Post-Production option to your Studio, go to Studio Settings → External Post-Production → Select ‘Add.'
Vendor Information
In the pop-up menu, you will be asked to set the initial configuration options related to general vendor information.
Vendor Field | Function |
Vendor Name | Add a name for this specific vendor option. The name will be used when viewing external post-production details in internal screens, such as your Style Guide, or in the Production tab. |
Connection Type | Select the type of service the vendor will be connecting to Creative Force with.
|
Working Time Zone | This determines the time zone used for functions like writing metadata or folder paths that use date/time values.
|
→ Workspace Time Zone | The Working Time Zone will be set to follow the same Time Zone set under the specific Workspace it is added to. |
Connection Settings
In the Connection Settings tab of the Add Vendor menu, you will need to provide specific credentials to facilitate the connection from Creative Force to your vendor.
Connection Settings are specific to the Connection Type selected in the 'Vendor Information' section of the setup. To view connector-specific connection settings, please see the 'Post Production' section of the relevant Connector article.
For convenience, we have linked each available connector in the table below.
Test Connection
Before saving, you can test Creative Force’s connection to the configured vendor via the ‘Test’ button near the bottom of the menu.
Test Failed
If your connection test fails, it means there is something incorrect with the current connection configuration. You can hover over the test icon to see more information on why the failure has occurred.
Test Successful
If your connection test is successful, Creative Force was able to connect to the vendor as expected.
Post-Setup
Once your External Post Vendor has been successfully saved, you are ready to start adding it to your Productions. In the following sections, we will briefly cover those next steps.
Add to Workflows
After adding an External Post step to a Workflow, choose the drop-down labeled 'Post-Production Vendor' and select it from the list.
