The Convert Style Guide V1 to V2 functionality acts as a bridge for studios to transition their existing configurations between Creative Force's Style Guide versions. This functionality intelligently transfers key elements like category triggers, production types, and color matching settings, while also managing Workflow associations to ensure operational continuity.

Where to find it

Convert a single Style Guide/Workflow V1

Navigate to the Style Guide/Workflow V1 page and locate the item you want to convert. Click the Actions button and select "Convert to V2".

Convert Style Guide V1 in bulk

From the Style Guide, use the Actions button and select "Convert to V2" to convert multiple Style Guides at once.

How it works

Style Guide Convert Logic

After clicking on the Convert button, you will see the Convert Logic as follows:

  • Source Style Guide V1 will be disabled.

  • Newly ingested products will be associated with the destination Style Guide V2.

  • All category triggers will be migrated to the destination Style Guide V2.

  • The Workflow associated with the source V1 will be associated with the destination V2.

Workflow Convert Logic

In the V2 engine, each production type from the source Workflow V1 will be converted into its own individual Workflow V2. This enhances flexibility by allowing one Workflow per Production Type within a Style Guide.

Note:

  • Products already imported can continue using the source Style Guide V1

  • The conversion process only migrates settings from the latest enabled version of the Style Guide/Workflow V1

  • You can re-enable a disabled Style Guide V1 to make changes and convert again (ensure you update the name to avoid duplicate name errors)

Simply click "Convert" to begin the process. The conversion runs in the background, and you can monitor its progress in the Message Center (available for Style Guide conversions only).

After Conversion

The Source Style Guide V1 is immediately disabled. You can click "View" to access the new Destination Style Guide V2.

The Source Workflow V1 remains enabled. You can click "View" to see how many converted Workflow versions are available.

Note:

  • The first Style Guide V1 to V2 conversion creates an associated Workflow V2. Subsequent conversions of the same Style Guide V1 version will reuse the existing Workflow V2.

  • If new production types are added to Workflow V1, converting again will only create a new Workflow V2 for those new production types, while reusing the existing Workflow V2.

  • Newly created Workflow V2s follow this naming convention: [Style Guide V1 Name] - [Production Type]. In the below example:

    • Style Guide V1 Name: Model + Copywriting

    • Production Type: On Model

β†’ Workflow V2 name: Model + Copywriting - On Model
