When setting up the Data Source, you can make a schedule to start the data scan on all of your available files in the data source. With Sync rules, you will have the ability to narrow down the schedule for specific jobs.

Before setting up the Sync rules, you must have a Data Source available. Please click here to know how it’s done.

To create Sync rules, hover over a data source and click ‘Edit’, then go to ‘Sync rules’ and click ‘Add’.

From here, you will have different settings for your Sync rules. You can have up to 100 sync rules for a single data source to handle different import scenarios based on different criteria. However, please ensure that each rule has a unique configuration to avoid conflicts.

  1. Rule settings

  • Rule name is a required field

  • Client: you can select the client from the drop-down list

  • Enable/Disable: when you disable the sync rule, the rule will be 'paused' for this specific rule

  • Slice job: you can choose the frequency and scope of job creation. If the job already exists in the system, products that match the criteria rule will be imported into the selected job.

    • Daily Job

    • Weekly Job

    • Monthly Job

    • Quarterly Job

    • Annual Job

  • Job by Product Property: if selected, you will need to define the product properly

  • New Job

  • Existing Job: if selected, you will need to select the job from the existing list. This list does not contain auto-sync jobs.

  • Job name: you will be able to use the existing tokens to create the job name.

Note:

  • The Client’s timezone settings will determine the timeline for the Job slice.

  • If the Data Source schedule is set to Monthly and the Job Slice schedule is Daily, CF will create only one job each time the Data Source is synced which is once a month.

  • If the Job code is blank, CF will use the Job name as the Job code. The maximum number of characters for the Job code is 64 characters.

  • If the Job name already exists in the system, we will add Date Time as a postfix to that Job name and use this as the Job code.

Sync scope

  • New products: New sync rule settings will be applied to all future imports, leaving existing products unchanged.

  • All products: Apply the new sync rule settings to existing products in the data source, including any delta files if applicable. After this, you can manually update existing products with the new settings by selecting "Update from Data Source."

Note:

  • Applying rule changes to a large data source or a significant number of delta files may result in longer sync times.

Sync settings

You can set up Import settings to be applied to your products and samples. This is the same as the Job import settings here.

2. Criteria

Here, you can set up conditional rules to define how Sync Job handles your Products. Criteria can be set based on various product properties. Products that match the rule here will be imported to your job.
