Presets define the output specifications for images and videos produced in Creative Force. Set at the Workspace level, they ensure consistent delivery requirements are applied throughout the production workflow– from post-production to QC, all the way to asset delivery.
Getting Started
To get started with Presets in Creative Force, you can access the Presets tab from either of the following locations in Gamma: Open the Production menu and select Presets, or navigate to the top-right menu and select Presets from Studio Settings.
Use the search bar to find a Preset by name, or use the Workspace dropdown to filter by Workspace.
Add New Preset
To create a new Preset for Editorial use in Deliverables, click Add Preset in the top right corner of the screen:
In the following pop-up menu, complete the required fields, then hit 'Add.'
Field | Function |
Workspace | From the dropdown, select the Workspace this Preset should be available for. |
Preset Type | Select 'Editorial.' |
Media Type | Select between:
|
Preset Name | Enter a descriptive name to easily identify your Preset throughout Creative Force. |
In the next screen, you will be shown a menu with 3 separate side tabs: Settings, Deliverables, and Specs.
Settings Tab
Under the settings tab, you will find a number of fields that display and control basic information unique to the Preset:
Field | Function |
Preset Name | The Preset Name will be carried over from your input in the previous menu, but can be further edited at this point. |

Property Tokens: Use Property Tokens to further enhance your naming convention with data specific to the Deliverable or Project.
Deliverables Tab
On the Deliverables tab, if this preset has not been assigned to any Deliverables, you will see '❗️No Data.' Otherwise, all of the Deliverables currently assigned to this Preset will be shown here.
Preset Specs
Within the Spec tab, you will be able to define output specifications and configure auto-variants.
Specification | Function |
File Format | Select an option from the drop-down to define a specific format that the files should be returned in. |
File Extension | Depending on the selected format, you will have the option to further define the extension (.tif vs .tiff, .jpg vs .jpeg) |
File Fallback | Available when TIF is selected as the format. If the file size limit is reached, then Creative Force will automatically export or accept a PSB file instead. |
TIFF Compression | Available when TIF is selected as the format. Select between:
|
DPI | Define an acceptable DPI (Dots Per Inch) for the assets to be returned with. |
Color Profile | Select an option from the drop-down to define the accepted color profile for the assets. |
Color Depth | Select an option from the drop-down to define the accepted color depth for the assets. |
Preset Variant Code | Set a variant code, which will be used to identify the spec/variant throughout Creative Force. |
In addition to the drop-down and free-text defined fields, there are a number of specification fields that allow sub-menu configuration via the toggle icon.
Specification | Function |
Size | Select between a set aspect ratio or dimensions by unit in pixels. |
Background Color | Use the color picker to define a background color, use a hex value, or set it to transparent. |
Cropping | Select a cropping method. |
→ Padding & Allignment | Set the expected padding in percent or pixels as a unit. Then, specify the desired alignment (bottom, top, center). |
→ Cropping Guide | Allows you to upload a reference image that defines the crop area visually instead of using numeric padding values. Only .png files are accepted. |
Metadata
In Creative Force, Metadata is set up at the Preset level. If a Deliverable is associated with a particular Preset, all assets pushed through the system under that Preset will receive the same Metadata configuration.
For more information on Metadata Setup & Configuration, please see our dedicated article on the subject by following the link below.
Auto Variants
Auto-Variants allow a single Spec to deliver multiple image outputs with different file formats, DPI, dimensions, or other specifications.
Auto-Variants are generated at the point of asset delivery that do not require retoucher processing. In Editorial, each Preset allows 1 Spec and up to 50 additional auto-variants.
⚠️ Important: All produced specs and variants will be delivered to the same delivery location, and no separate folder can be defined for variants in the Delivery Options (as is the case with Ecom delivery.)

Next Steps
Once your Preset has been configured to your satisfaction, you can save and exit the Presets area.
Now that you have created your Preset, it’s time to assign it to a Deliverable.
Preset Assignment
When you are ready to define which assets should be related to your Presets during Production, you will be able to do so at the Deliverable level. Navigate to the Production Tab → Deliverables, then select a Deliverable to enter the main view.
In the Deliverable view, select the 'Add Preset' button on the overview tab– then use the pop-up menu to search for and select the Preset you would like to associate:
After selecting the Preset, it will be added and shown in the Deliverable view, where the Add Preset button was shown previously.
On hover, you will have the option to remove the Preset by clicking the small gray “x” in the right corner of the preset name.
Preset Stacking
Conversely, you can use the '+' button to add additional Presets to be applied to assets produced in this Deliverable.
🗣️ Preset Stacking: While each preset outputs one 'spec' per Deliverable, you are able to stack multiple presets on the same Deliverable. This allows you to output multiple specs and related auto-variants from one input asset.
File Name Preview
Below the presets added, Creative Force also provides a preview of the file output name so your team can ensure that once processed, the images will be named correctly.
File Name Notes
The vendor must return all files with the correct naming, as per the Preset setup.
If files returned from the vendor have the same naming, the vendor must add the preset variant code as a postfix in the filename so it can be mapped to the corresponding preset.
If the vendor is using FTP or Box.com method, the files must also have the Physical File ID kept intact.
