The Creative Force MCP Server lets your AI assistant build and maintain planning sessions, the scheduled shoot slots in your planning view, with a simple instruction. Every change appears in the planning view straight away, so the plan everyone works from stays accurate.

Getting Started

With the Manage Planning Sessions feature in your MCP's toolkit, you can spin up a new session, add its schedule, set, team, and products in whatever order suits you, adjust any of those details when plans shift, and remove a session that is no longer going ahead.

Prerequisites

In order to use the MCP Server for managing your planning data, you should have already reviewed and completed the details and setup steps in the following articles:

Data Warning

⚠️ Edits Live Data: This feature works with and has the potential to change and remove live data from your studio.

Before getting started, it's important to note that this function works with live studio data and has the ability to make permanent changes to your Planning data. Every change is written to the Creative Force straight away and shows in the planning view immediately.

Changes are live, and there's no "undo." To reverse something, ask your assistant to make the opposite change, or adjust it directly in Creative Force.

Permissions

In order for your MCP connection to support these functions, you must be in a role with Access level permissions for 'Write Planning,' under the MCP Server tab.

📝 Note: If a role only has 'access' set for Query Planning, but not Write Planning, they will be able to ask questions about Sessions, but will not be able to create, change, or delete them.

Not Supported

Managing a session covers the session and the schedule, set, team, and products on it. Some related things are handled elsewhere in Creative Force. The following functions are not currently supported as part of this feature and may be introduced later as part of additional functions/permissions.

Resourcing	Resourcing is part of seperate beta, and its related Planning functions are not currently supported as part of this MCP function.
Outfits	Within a session, creating, editing, or removing outfits is a separate capability and not currently supported as part of this function.
Downstream Products/Samples	Editing the underlying Product Request or Production task itself (i.e., sample check-in, secondary products) is managed in their own areas.
User Data	Talent & Crew User Properties can not be changed via MCP. A person's skills, agency, rate, and personal details cannot be modified as part of this MCP function.

Available Functions

Manage Team on Set	Add, edit, or remove team members for a Session.

Delete a Session	Delete an existing Session from your Planning calendar.

Create Session


Function Overview	Create a new session against a chosen Production Type. It appears in the Planning view immediately, before any title, team, set, or product requests are added.
Related Properties
Notes & Callouts	A session can be empty and still valid; creating a session does not require immediately adding a title, description, or team members to the Session.

Update Details


Function Overview	Change the title or description of a Session. Change the date, time, or duration of when a shoot is set, Assign or change the location where the session is shot.

Example Prompts	"Move the Thursday on-model session to Friday at 9 am, running three hours." "Rename Session SES137123CF to Spring Denim Day 2." "Set the location for tomorrow's Session to Studio B."

Manage Team on Set


Function Overview	Add a person to the Session together with the skill they should fill (eg, photographer, stylist, model). Change the skill for someone already assigned. Swap one person for another under a specific skill. Remove a person who is no longer needed.
Related Properties
Notes & Callouts	Every person needs a skill. You can't add someone to a Session without saying which skill they fill. If you don't name one, your assistant will ask. Adding someone to a session puts them on the crew, but it does not confirm or set their availability/hold status.
Example Prompts	"Add Jane Doe to Thursday's session as the photographer." "Swap the photographer on the Friday session to John Smith." "Change Maria's role on this session from stylist to model." "Remove the second assistant from tomorrow's session."

Manage Products


Function Overview	Attach existing product requests to the session by filtering what's available (for example, by category, location, or sample check-in status) and assigning them. Remove product requests from a session that are no longer being shot that day.
Related Properties
Notes & Callouts	Attaching a product doesn't disturb production. Assigning an existing product to a session doesn't change that product's status, and doesn't remove it from anywhere else it's assigned. It's simply now also shown in this session. Products must match the session's production type. You can only attach products that fit the Session. For example, a Flat work unit can't be added to an On-Model session. If a product doesn't appear as available, this is usually why.

Delete Session


Function Overview	Delete a Session created in error or no longer needed. It will be removed from the Planning view entirely. ⚠️ Destructive
Related Properties
Notes & Callouts	Deleting is guarded. If you try to delete a session that still has confirmed bookings or outfits attached, your assistant will warn you or stop, rather than silently leaving those bookings and outfits pointing at nothing.
