The Lunar New Year, is just around the corner, and will be a great time of celebration for some 2 billion people around the world!
For our colleagues based in Vietnam, this will be a great time of celebration and reflection with the upcoming Year of the Ox.
The Vietnamese Lunar New Year, known locally as Tết, is the celebration of the arrival of spring following the Vietnamese Lunar calendar. It is the most important holiday of the year for the people of Vietnam - think of it as a combination of Christmas and New Year. During Tết, people will typically go home to their families and spend the week reflecting on the past year and looking forward to what the new year holds.
On the first day of Tết, people will spend time with their immediate family, and on the subsequent days, they will visit their friends, extended family, and teachers who hold an important standing in Vietnamese culture. Though many of these meetings will be virtual in 2021!
In any celebration like this, food plays a critical part. People cook many different types of special dishes like Bánh Chưng (rice cakes) and Canh Măng Khô (Bamboo with Pork).
What Tết practically means for Creative Force is that between the 8th and 16th of February our Development cycle will be a little slower than usual.
Any critical issues will still be reviewed and actioned as needed, with all others being actioned and resolved after the holiday period.
As ever, you will still get the same level support via chat or by emailing our team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wishing you all the very best for the coming Year of the Ox, and as we say in Vietnam Chúc Mừng Năm Mới!
