Conditional rules help control production, but they can sometimes prevent a task from running when the required conditions are not met. In these cases, you can manually override the conditional settings to provide more flexibility.
Introduction
When viewing items governed by conditional rules, there are two icons that immediately convey information about their status.
| Status | Explanation |
| Active | The production type/position/etc. is armed and set to follow the specific Conditional Rules established in its settings. |
| Inactive | The production type/position/etc. is not armed and will not follow any Conditional Rules established in its settings. |
In addition to conveying the status, these icons also facilitate the ability to manually force the governed item to behave differently than the rules naturally allow. How this is done differs depending on which application you are viewing the item in.
In Gamma
Single Item
To override a Conditional Rule at the production type or position level, open the Production tab in the Edit Product Request pop-up.
You can access Edit Product Request by either selecting it from the three-dot menu in the slide-in panel or by right-clicking on the product.
Bulk Items
When selecting multiple items and overriding the settings, you may see different options depending on the items selected.
Context Signal | Description |
Multiple Values | The selected items have different states; some are disabled, some are enabled |
Follow Conditional Settings | Apply the Conditional Settings to all of the selected items |
Override Settings | Override the Conditional Settings on all of the selected items |
In Kelvin
In Kelvin, photographers can enable the relevant production type or position immediately, helping to prevent interruptions during the shoot.
When a Position is Disabled
After scanning the code, select Product Request → Edit, then click the icon 
to enable the position. Kelvin will automatically apply the change and display the newly enabled position.
When a Production Type is Disabled
In this scenario, the flow is slightly different. Please follow these steps:
After scanning the code, Kelvin will prompt you to select a different production task because the current task is disabled.
Select Product Request > Edit.
Click the Conditional Rule icon, then toggle the production type to enable it.
Clear the current selection list and scan the product request again.
You can now start adding images to the newly enabled production task.
In Chroma
To override the conditional settings in Chroma, scan the item and then go to Actions → Edit Product Request → Photography. Click the Conditional Rule icon – then select Save to apply the change.
